The Astral SP40089 is the genuine pump lid assembly for Astral / Hurlcon CTX and CTX MKII, E-Combie, Viron P320 and P520 XT (including XT MKII P320C / P520C) and Filtrite PE and PX pool pumps.
The clear lid seals the top of the pump's strainer pot so you can see the basket. A cracked lid, or one that no longer seals, lets air into the pump, which causes poor priming and noisy running.
