The Pentair MasterTemp is a high performance natural gas pool and spa heater, available in 200MJ, 300MJ and 400MJ models, with a fully pre-mixed low NOx burner, an LCD diagnostic display and a tough, rustproof cabinet certified for outdoor and indoor installation.
A gas heater is the fastest way to heat a pool or spa, and it only costs money when it's running, which makes the MasterTemp a good choice if you only heat occasionally or want your spa hot quickly. The fully pre-mixed air and gas system gives faster heat-up times, and the burner is certified for low NOx emissions.
The easy-to-read LCD display shows front-facing error messages and icons for simple diagnostics, and the display control board is backwards compatible with earlier MasterTemp models. It's super quiet, has a small footprint and a black and beige finish that sits neatly beside other pool equipment.

Gas supply and pipe size. Check your gas meter capacity and the pipe size needed for the distance from the meter (see Specifications). Undersized gas pipe is the most common cause of poor heater performance.

Licensed installation. Gas connection must be done by a licensed gas fitter to AS/NZS 5601.1, and electrical work by a licensed electrician to AS3000.

Placement. Keep the heater at least 3.5 m from the inside of the pool or spa unless there is a solid barrier between them, and keep the vent at least 1500 mm from building openings.

LPG? These models are natural gas. LPG conversion kits (SPG004, SPG005, SPG006) are available through Sunlover for each size.

Which size do I need? Bigger heaters heat faster. As a guide, the 400MJ heats a large spa or pool noticeably quicker than the 200MJ; pick by your pool volume and how quickly you want it warm.

Can it heat a spa? Yes, MasterTemp heaters suit pools and spas, and are popular for fast spa heating.

Can I run it in cold water? Don't run it continuously with water below 20°C, as condensation can damage the heater.

Covered by the Pentair limited factory warranty. Full terms are on the warranty card supplied with the heater. The warranty is void if the heater is not installed and operated as per the manual.
