A PVC pressure reducing bush that fits into a 50 mm socket and lets you connect 40 mm pipe. Use it on a 50 mm port, such as a union or fitting socket, when the pipework is 40 mm. For joining two lengths of pipe of different sizes, the 50 to 40 mm reducing coupling is the usual choice. It is a pressure fitting for pressurised pool and spa plumbing, not a drain (DWV) fitting.
