The Sunbather 100322 is the genuine pool (cold water) temperature sensor for Sunbather Sunswitch solar pool heating controllers, with a 2m cable and a non-polar plug-in connection.
The sensor measures the pool water temperature so the Sunswitch controller can compare it with the roof sensor and decide when to run the solar pump. It sits in a sensor pocket fitted into the pool pipework, before the solar take-off.

Test it with a multimeter. Sunbather's manual lists the sensor resistance as about 9,535 ohms at 10°C, 5,902 ohms at 20°C, 3,770 ohms at 30°C and 2,480 ohms at 40°C. A reading far from these suggests the sensor needs replacing.

Don't coil spare cable. The manual says coiled excess wire weakens the signal, so cut the cable to length instead.

Seal any joins. If you need to join the cable, solder and waterproof the join, as the manual recommends.

Which way round do the wires go? It doesn't matter. The sensor is non-polar, so it can be connected either way.
