Basically pool heaters need a seperate water flow (a running pump), to be able to function. I know they're called a "Heat pump" but they don't actually have a water pump built in. Essentially they're a reverse cycle air conditioner, but the transfer the heat in to/out of, the water instead. So if you only have a single pump on your pool setup, you'll need to to be turned on to run your heat pump. Installing a Heat Junction 5, will operate that for you automatically.
The Sunlover Heating Heat Command 5HJ (Oasis HJ5) Heat Junction Controller is an advanced, specialized automation interface built to solve timing conflicts in integrated single-pump configurations. On standard layouts where an inverter heat pump shares a single filtration pump with a saltwater chlorinator, the systems often clashāstarving the heater of water or running the pump outside of scheduled chlorination windows. The 5HJ resolves this completely by linking both devices into a single, intelligent electrical junction.
Sourced directly from Australia's premier pool climate engineers, this smart module features an innovative dual-input piggyback line. It actively reads incoming 240V signals from your chlorinator's master timers while simultaneously parsing runtime commands generated by your Oasis heat pump's internal thermostat. If the heat pump requires operational flow to satisfy a target temperature drop, the 5HJ overrides the standard clock to safely feed low-voltage power back to the primary pump. By safely preventing over-chlorination during extended heating cycles, this heavy-duty, weather-resistant control block maintains pristine water balancing, lowers chemical wear, and drops ongoing operational electricity expenses.
