Skimmer Baskets

Find the right replacement skimmer basket for your pool. We stock genuine and generic baskets for Poolrite, Waterco, Filtrite, Quiptron, Paramount, Hayward and more. Use the guide and size table below to match your basket.

How to identify your skimmer basket

1. Check the skimmer lid. Most lids have the brand and model moulded into the top (e.g. Poolrite S1800, Waterco S75, Filtrite SK900).
2. Measure the basket. Measure the outside top width (rim to rim), the height, and the base width, in mm.
3. Count the locking lugs. Note how many tabs sit around the rim (e.g. 3 on the Poolrite S2500, 4 on the Waterco Supaskimmer).
4. Check the base. Note whether it has a centre hole (for a basket cap or vacuum hose).
5. Match it in the table below. Sizes are within a few mm, so match on top width first, then height.

Skimmer basket FAQs

How do I know which skimmer basket I need?

Check the brand and model on your skimmer lid, then measure the basket's top width, height and base width. Match those sizes to the chart above.

Will a generic skimmer basket fit my skimmer box?

Yes, if it's listed for your skimmer model. Generic baskets are made to fit the original skimmer. Some, like the stainless steel S1800 basket, are a slightly different shape but still fit.

What's the difference between a genuine and a generic basket?

A genuine basket is made by the skimmer's manufacturer. A generic basket is an aftermarket replacement made to fit the same skimmer, and usually costs less.

When should I replace my skimmer basket?

Replace it if it's cracked, brittle, missing a locking lug or no longer sits flat. A broken basket lets leaves through to your pump basket and can block the pump.

Does the basket come with a cap?

No. The Poolrite S1800 basket cap is sold separately. It covers the centre hole in the bottom of the basket. Remove it when you connect a vacuum hose or suction cleaner.
