How to identify your vacuum plate
Check the skimmer lid. Most skimmer lids have the brand and model moulded into the top (e.g. Poolrite S2500, Filtrite SK900, Waterco S75).
Measure the plate. Measure across the widest part of the plate, in mm.
Check the hose connection. Note whether the hose plugs into a centre hole, an off-centre hole, a moulded elbow or a raised cone, and whether the hole is threaded.
Check the edge and underside. Note any tabs, lugs or clips, notches or cut-outs in the edge, and any legs or stubs underneath.
Match it in the table below. Sizes are within a few mm, so match on diameter first, then features.
It sits on top of the skimmer basket and connects your vacuum hose to the skimmer, so the filter pump provides the suction when you vacuum the pool.
How do I know which vacuum plate I need?
Check the brand and model on your skimmer lid, then measure the plate's diameter. Match those to the chart above or use the Vacuum Plate Finder.
Why is my vacuum plate losing suction?
A cracked or warped plate, a worn O-ring or gasket, or a plate that doesn't sit flat on the basket lets air in. Replace the plate or seal if it's damaged.
Do I still need a skimmer basket with a vacuum plate?
Yes. The plate sits on top of the basket, so the basket still catches leaves before they reach the pump. See our skimmer baskets.
