The Astral 10652 is a genuine 50mm (2") threaded barrel union that screws into the threaded ports of the 50mm multiport valve on Astral CA 300, CA 340 and CA 400 media filters, made in Australia.
It is the "threaded barrel union complete" listed on Astral's CA & ECA media filter spare parts diagram (item 12). Barrel unions let you disconnect the filter valve from your pool pipework for service or replacement without cutting pipe. Fluidra also lists this union as a spare part for the Filtrite MF media filter.

💡 Before You Buy

Check your valve size. CA 300, CA 340 and CA 400 filters have 50mm valve ports and take this union. CA 280, ECA 550 and ECA 650 filters have 40mm ports, so you need the Astral 40mm Threaded Barrel Union (10651) instead.

One union per port. The multiport valve has separate Pump, Return and Waste connections, and each union is sold individually. Order one for every connection you are replacing.

Replacing just the O-ring? If the union is fine but leaking at the valve, the Astral 50mm Union to Valve O-Ring (70009) is sold separately.
🔧 Our Tips

Fit the O-ring first. Astral's manual calls for an O-ring between the multiport valve and each barrel union, so make sure it is seated before you screw the union in.

Hand tighten only. Tighten the union by hand. Astral states Teflon tape is not required on these connections.

Match the markings. Check each pipe goes to the right port on the valve (Pump, Return and Waste) before you tighten everything up.

Do I need thread tape? No. Astral's installation manual says the unions are hand tightened with an O-ring and Teflon tape is not required.

Which size does my filter need? CA 300, CA 340 and CA 400 use 50mm unions (this one). CA 280, ECA 550 and ECA 650 use 40mm unions.

How many do I need? One for each valve connection you are replacing. A full set for Pump, Return and Waste is three.
