Stainless Steel Rejuvenating Kit for Outdoor Stainless Steel including S.R.Smith Pool Rails and Ladders
🏷️ Brand
Chemron (formerly Cyndan), supplied for S.R.Smith
📝 Description
The Cyndan Stainless Steel Rejuvenating Kit (SR-SS-REJUV-KIT) by Chemron is the two-step kit S.R.Smith recommends for removing corrosion and tea staining from stainless steel pool rails, ladders and grab rails, then coating them with a protective layer, treating up to 10 square metres.
Cyndan is now Chemron. The company changed its name, so you may see either name on the packaging, but it is the same stainless steel care range.
It is used for S.R.Smith stainless steel pool rails, ladders and handrails, but can be used for all stainless steel products, not just S.R.Smith ones, including balustrading, BBQs, lighting posts, boat rails and sculptures, indoors or outdoors.
Step 1 is the Stainless Steel Rejuvenating Paste, a non-abrasive, pH-balanced cleaner for all grades of stainless steel. It also neutralises acidic residue left behind by earlier cleaning products.
Step 2 is Stainless Steel Sentry, a protective coating containing the Cyndan NANOLON concentrate. Applied to the cleaned steel, it forms a microscopic coating that protects it for several months, depending on conditions.

💡 Before You Buy
-
Not just for S.R.Smith. The kit is recommended by S.R.Smith for its rails and ladders, but it works on any stainless steel, whatever the brand.
-
Use both steps together. The paste and the Sentry coating are designed to be used as a pair, with the paste first and the coating second.
-
Got tea staining? The brown spotting on pool rails and ladders is tea staining, which the paste is made to remove.
🔧 Our Tips
-
Clean with the paste first. Dampen the area, then apply the paste directly or with a non-abrasive pad or cloth. Rub until it foams slightly and the staining lifts, then rinse or wipe it off.
-
Follow the grain. On brushed stainless steel, rub in the direction of the grain.
-
Protect with Sentry. Make sure the surface is clean and dry, spray on the Sentry (or onto a microfibre cloth for small areas), and polish it in with a microfibre cloth.
❓ Common Questions
-
Is Cyndan the same as Chemron? Yes. Cyndan changed its name to Chemron, so both names refer to the same company and products.
-
Can I use it on stainless steel that isn't S.R.Smith? Yes. It suits all grades of marine and architectural stainless steel, whatever the brand.
-
How much does one kit cover? Up to 10 square metres of stainless steel.
-
How long does the protection last? Several months, depending on conditions such as weather and pool chemistry exposure.
