Astral / Hurlcon ZX100 Cartridge Filter Element
🏷️ Brand
Astral (genuine) / Generic option available
📝 Description
The Astral SP78097 is the genuine replacement cartridge element for Astral / Hurlcon ZX100 and XC100 cartridge filters, and also suits Zodiac ZCF100 and ZXC100 and Filtrite CF100 filters. It is about 495 mm long and 230 mm in diameter with a 75 mm centre hole.
This listing has two options. Astral / Hurlcon is the genuine Astral element (SP78097). Generic is a replacement element (HU100Z) made to suit Hurlcon ZX100 filters, open at both ends.
A cartridge element wears out over time. When it no longer cleans up, the pleats are torn or flattened, or filter pressure stays high straight after cleaning, it is time for a new one.

💡 Before You Buy
-
Check your filter model. The model is on the label on the filter tank. The number after ZX or XC is the size, so a ZX100 needs a 100 element. A different size will not fit.
-
Measure your old element. Compare it with the sizes above before ordering.
-
Different size filter? See the ZX150, ZX200 and ZX250 elements.
-
Lid leaking? The lid O-ring is sold separately: Astral ZX Cartridge Filter Lid O-Ring MK2 (78110).
❓ Common Questions
-
Which filters does it fit? Astral / Hurlcon ZX100 and XC100, Zodiac ZCF100 and ZXC100, and Filtrite CF100 (genuine). The generic suits Hurlcon ZX100.
-
What is the difference between genuine and generic? Genuine is Astral's own SP78097 element. Generic is a replacement element (HU100Z) made to suit the ZX100.
-
When should I replace my element? When it no longer cleans up, the pleats are damaged, or pressure stays high straight after cleaning.
