The Astral 78099 is the genuine replacement cartridge element for Astral / Hurlcon ZX200 and XC200 cartridge filters, and also suits Zodiac ZCF200 and ZXC200 and Filtrite CF200 filters. It is 230 mm in diameter with a 75 mm centre hole.
This listing has two options. Astral / Fluidra is the genuine Astral element (78099). Generic is a replacement element (HU200Z) made to suit Hurlcon ZX200 filters, open at both ends.
A cartridge element wears out over time. When it no longer cleans up, the pleats are torn or flattened, or filter pressure stays high straight after cleaning, it is time for a new one.
